The Breitling Navitimer 806 is the manual-wind pilot's chronograph Breitling launched in 1954 for members of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), building a circular slide-rule bezel around the existing Chronomat to let pilots run fuel, speed and distance calculations in flight. Early examples through the mid-1960s carry the AOPA wings logo on the dial and run Breitling's Venus calibre 178, cased at roughly 40 mm in steel with a beaded bezel of 94 clicks; a plain "wing" logo without the AOPA lettering followed later in the reference's run. Breitling kept the 806 in production into the early 1970s before the Navitimer moved to automatic movements, and the reference remains the line's defining vintage shape. (Breitling)
