The Bulova American Girl K is a tonneau-cased ladies' dress watch from Bulova's American Girl line, a name the brand used across ladies' models from 1933 into the 1960s. Bulova's own archives department identifies the watch Beth Harmon receives as a graduation gift in The Queen's Gambit as an American Girl K from 1957: a faceted gold-tone case on a matching bracelet that period advertising called "a superb Bulova watch and a magnificent bracelet in one glamorous ensemble," priced at $59.50, about $551 today. No numeric reference is documented for the vintage mechanical original; Bulova revived the name in 2022 as a limited quartz Archive Series reissue, ref. 97L170, a distinct product from the hand-wound piece the show used.
