The CWC 1980 Royal Navy Divers took the Royal Navy's diving contract off Rolex. Cabot Watch Company won the 1980 tender and replaced the issued Submariner on Clearance Divers' wrists. A self-winding ETA 2783 ran in a 44 mm case built by Dodane in France, with hashed acrylic bezel, sword hands and tritium dial, and only about a hundred were issued before the 1981 revision changed case and movement. The quartz Royal Navy diver is a later, separate specification issued from 1983, reissued today as the CWC 1983 RN Divers Quartz Reissue. (CWC, CWC, CWC Addict) CWC's 2017 reissue, item 73119, rebuilds that configuration in a run of 600 on an ETA 2824-2, sold out by 2022; the infobox describes that re-edition.
