The Casio G-Shock GA-2000S-1A is the monotone black GA-2000, released on 20 June 2019 on Casio's Carbon Core Guard structure: module 5590 sits in a case moulded from carbon-fibre-loaded fine resin rather than a resin core inside a separate bezel guard, stiff enough to leave the buttons unguarded. A two-layer case back absorbs shocks from underneath and leaves the lugs flat, which is what makes the quick-change band work: a lever at the base of each band releases it without tools. Casio's specifications for this reference and for the base GA-2000-1A9 are otherwise identical; what its own copy claims for the -1A is the colour scheme, black on black, so the case shape stays legible when the band is swapped.
