An unidentified field watch worn by Liam Neeson as Tom Carter in Honest Thief (2020). The field watch is a procurement category before it is a style: a small, high-contrast watch specified by armies to be read instantly in bad light, one hand already occupied. The American line runs from the wartime A-11 through MIL-W-3818 to MIL-W-46374 of 1964, which drove the format to a deliberately disposable watch, cased in plastic and meant to be thrown away rather than serviced (Wikipedia). Tom Carter is a former Marine turned bank robber, so the format sits with the character. The frame shows the inheritance, a cream dial and complete ring of Arabic numerals in a dark case on riveted dark leather, but no maker's name is legible.
