The Hamilton Pulsar P2 2900 is the watch that made the LED wristwatch a product rather than a prototype: the steel successor to the $2,100 18-karat gold Pulsar "Time Computer" that Hamilton announced in 1970, built by its Time Computer, Inc. arm in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The cushion case carries no crown and no hands: pressing the case pusher lights red LED digits through the ruby-tinted crystal, and the display goes dark again because the diodes drew far too much current to run continuously. Roger Moore demonstrated exactly that gesture in Live and Let Die, giving the P2 the franchise's first digital time check; Hamilton's 2020 PSR reissue reproduces the P2 case for the model's fiftieth anniversary.
