The Hamilton Thin-O-Matic revives a name Hamilton first used in the late 1950s for its ultra-thin automatic watches, an era when slimness was the industry's obsession. This modern American Classic reissue, reference H38715281, is a dress-leaning automatic in a slender 42mm stainless-steel case just 11.15mm thick, with a silver dial, applied markers, a sapphire crystal and a date. It runs a self-winding movement with roughly a 42-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 50 metres. Hamilton, an American brand founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and now owned by the Swiss Swatch Group, files the Thin-O-Matic under its American Classic collection rather than the military-rooted Khaki family, placing it in a different lineage and a different era entirely.
