The IWC Ingenieur SL 1832 is Gerald Genta's 1976 redesign of IWC's tool watch, a 40 mm steel case with an integrated bracelet that earned it the nickname "Jumbo." Its automatic caliber 8541ES carries the "ES" designation for Eisenschutz, a soft-iron cage shielding the movement to 80,000 A/m; IWC built it for only about seven years, and it sold poorly when new.
