The IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar pairs the house's oversized 1939 Portugieser dial, with its railway minute track and slim applied numerals, to a full perpetual calendar complication: day, date and month in three subdials, a moonphase display accurate to one day in 577.5 years, and a four-digit year indicator elsewhere in the collection's execution history. The current 44.2 mm case, ref. IW503301 pictured here in 18-carat white gold with a slate dial, houses the in-house calibre 52610 with roughly seven days of power reserve, visible through a sapphire caseback, on a black alligator strap by Santoni. (IWC) Earlier generations of the complication, sold under the "Portuguese" spelling before IWC's mid-2010s rebrand to "Portugieser," carried the same calendar architecture in different case sizes and metals.
