The IWC Portuguese Chrono-Automatic is the self-winding chronograph that anchored IWC's Portuguese line, reference IW371401, launched in the late 1990s. Its 40.9 mm stainless steel case frames the collection's hallmark wide, clean dial with a slim bezel and a railway minute track. The silvered dial carries applied rose-gold Arabic numerals and leaf-shaped hands, with two recessed subdials (a 30-minute counter at twelve and running seconds at six) beneath a sapphire crystal. An automatic chronograph movement, calibre 79350, drives it, rated to 30 m. Elegant rather than tool-like, it became one of IWC's most recognisable and widely worn designs. (SwissWatchExpo)
