The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 takes its name from the manually wound calibre it houses. The elongated case, roughly 48.5 by 29.9 mm, swivels within its carriage so the crystal can be turned to face the wrist, the safeguard the Reverso design was built for in 1931. The silvered dial carries Arabic numerals around a small-seconds and 48-hour power-reserve display at six o'clock, and a sapphire back exposes the calibre 976: a 19-jewel, 28,800-vibration movement with a variable-inertia Gyromax balance. Jaeger-LeCoultre sold the model in steel with a silver (Q3738420) or black (Q3738470) dial, and in 18K rose gold as reference 273.2.04 (Q3732420), each rated to 30 meters.
