The Oris Worldtimer introduced a patented second-time-zone mechanism in 1997: pushers on the case band advance or retard the main hour hand in one-hour steps independently of the minutes, while a subdial shows the reference time with a day/night indicator, letting the wearer reset local time without touching the running seconds. Later steel cases, such as reference 7494, run the automatic Calibre 690, an ETA 2836-2 base, in a 37 mm case. (Oris) Deployant identifies a stainless steel Worldtimer as the watch Joseph R. Gannascoli's Vito Spatafore wears on The Sopranos (1999), calling it "definitely more low key than the watches of his fellow wiseguys," a plain steel second-timezone piece against Tony Soprano's and Christopher Moltisanti's gold.
