The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711R extended Gérald Genta's 1976 steel sports-watch design into rose gold in 2015, pairing the porthole case and integrated bracelet with a dial gradated from brown at the center to black at the periphery, a warmer counterpart to the blue-black steel dial the reference launched with in 2006. Patek fitted the 5711R with caliber 324 S C at introduction and moved the line to the successor caliber 26-330 S C from 2019, the same automatic movement change applied across the 5711 family. Like the steel reference, the 5711R became part of the run-up in secondary-market prices that made the whole Nautilus line a flashpoint for status and money-anxiety. (Patek Philippe)
