The Rolex Submariner 16610LV is the fiftieth-anniversary Submariner Rolex launched in 2003, and the reference that put green on a steel sports Rolex for the first time: an anodised aluminium bezel insert in Rolex green against a black maxi dial, on the familiar 40 mm Oyster case with the calibre 3135 inside. The LV suffix is for *lunette verte*. Collectors named it "Kermit" almost immediately, and Rolex discontinued it in 2010 in favour of the all-green Cerachrom 116610LV, which is a different watch with a different nickname.
