Seiko 7A38-7060
More actions
The Seiko 7A38-7060 is a 1980s quartz chronograph built on calibre 7A38, the day-date development of 1983's 7A28, the world's first analog quartz chronograph movement. Unusually for quartz, the 7A-series uses a jeweled, all-metal gear train with 1/10-second chronograph resolution and a hand-adjustable minute counter, which is why the family has a collector following well beyond Seiko specialists. The 7060 case was offered in steel, two-tone and gilt executions; the steel, silver-dial version is the scarcest. It is the probable, though not confirmed, watch on Roger Moore's wrist in the pre-title sequence of A View to a Kill (1985), long identified as the no-date 7A28-7020 until high-definition frames showed what appears to be a day-date window.
