The Seiko Prospex SSC295 is a solar-powered quartz chronograph from Seiko's Prospex line of sport watches, introduced around 2014. Its 42 mm black ion-plated stainless-steel case, water resistant to 100 metres, runs the light-driven Caliber V172, which holds roughly a six-month reserve when fully charged. A Hardlex crystal covers a dial with LumiBrite markers, an inner rotating compass ring, a 60-minute chronograph with split timing, a 12-hour alarm and dual time, and it ships on an olive nylon strap. The military-styled looks and maintenance-free solar movement make it a rugged, affordable field-and-adventure watch. (Long Island Watch)
