Seiko SKX007

The Seiko SKX007 is the black-dial cornerstone of Seiko's SKX line of ISO 6425-compliant automatic divers, introduced in 1996 as the successor to the 7002 series. It runs the workhorse 7S26 automatic - 21,600 vph, day-date at 3, no hacking or hand-winding - in a 42.5mm steel case with Seiko's offset crown at 4, a 120-click unidirectional bezel, Hardlex crystal, drilled lugs and a genuine 200m diver's rating. (Long Island Watch) Seiko wound the line down around 2019 in favour of the Seiko 5 Sports SRPD family, which recycles the case but drops the ISO rating and screw-down crown, and the discontinuation pushed the SKX from entry-level recommendation to minor cult object almost overnight. Its Pepsi-bezel sibling is the Seiko SKX009.
