The TAG Heuer 1000 Series is the diver family Heuer introduced in 1978 and formally branded "1000" in 1984, its 980-reference cases including the gold-plated black-dial model (ref. 984.013) later spotted on Wall Street's most infamous wrist: a quartz diver whose resemblance to a gold Submariner cost a fraction of one. Heuer widened the range with the more fashion-driven 2000 Series in 1982 and phased the 1000 out by 1992, folding its numbered dive-watch lineage into the Aquaracer in 2005.
