The Terra Cielo Mare Orienteering PVD is the blacked-out version of the navigation watch built by Terra Cielo Mare, a small Italian independent that is the house brand of a family-owned case maker and draws its designs from the exploits of Italy's armed services. An ETA 2824 automatic drives it, and the case carries its winding crown on the left in the Italian destro arrangement, keeping the oversized head clear of the wrist. A second large crown at two o'clock turns a bi-directional inner bezel bearing two 24-hour scales, blue for the northern hemisphere and yellow for the southern; matching the scale to the time and pointing the hour hand at the sun turns the cardinal markings into a rough bearing.
