Waltham pocket watch
Photo: Shohbido (representative antique Waltham open-face pocket watch from the lender's stock; not the piece lent)
A Waltham pocket watch is one of the pocket watches of the American Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Massachusetts, which produced about 40 million watches, clocks and instruments between 1850 and 1957. (Wikipedia: Waltham Watch Company) In Human Trust Etsushi Toyokawa's Harry Endo carries an antique Waltham that the Kochi pocket-watch dealer Shohbido lent from its own collection to suit the story's Occupation-era background. The dealer names no model, so the open-face example pictured, from its stock, is representative only. (Shohbido)
