Batman is a 1989 superhero film directed by Tim Burton, starring Michael Keaton as the wealthy Gotham City industrialist Bruce Wayne, who dons the cape and cowl to confront a criminal empire now run by the disfigured, chemically deranged Jack Napier, better known as the Joker.
