Gudetama (series)

From IMWDb
Official Sanrio character artwork of Gudetama, used here to represent the character generally, as Epson's own 2016 announcement names no single anime or series.

Gudetama is a perpetually tired, apathetic anthropomorphic egg yolk created in 2013 by Amy (the pen name of Emi Nagashima) for Sanrio. Originally aimed at children, the character's deadpan embodiment of modern-day exhaustion won over teen and adult fans, and by 2019 Gudetama was Sanrio's third most profitable character. Gudetama starred in an animated morning show on TBS from 2014 to 2020 and later headlined the Netflix series Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure (2022). (Wikipedia) Epson's 2016 Smart Canvas collaboration watch credits the release to Gudetama generally rather than to either television series.

Epson Smart Canvas Gudetama Watch
Official product partnership, not an in-work appearance. Epson announced this ¥19,000 electronic-paper wristwatch on July 22, 2016, released six days later, its display cycling through grayscale Gudetama scenes including one where the egg is poked awake each hour and a dedicated mode that lets it hide the time display entirely. It is credited to Gudetama generally, naming no single anime, film, or television work. (Mynavi News)
