Moomin (Moomintroll) is a character created by Finnish author and illustrator Tove Jansson, first appearing in her 1945 novel The Moomins and the Great Flood. The round-snouted, hippopotamus-like troll and his family and friends in Moominvalley, including Snufkin, Little My, and Moominpapa and Moominmamma, have since starred in a long-running comic strip, further novels, and Japanese-produced anime television series such as Mūmin (1969) and Tanoshii Mūmin Ikka (1990). (Wikipedia) Seiko's collaboration watches, sold through Imperial Enterprise's PREMICO character-watch imprint, credit both releases to Moomin Characters generally rather than to any single book, film, or television work.
