The Rolex Daytona 116520 is the stainless steel Cosmograph Daytona produced from 2000 to 2016 and the first powered by a movement built entirely in-house: the column-wheel, vertical-clutch caliber 4130 replaced the Zenith El Primero-based 4030 with a simpler architecture of fewer components and a longer 72-hour reserve. (Bob's Watches) The 40 mm Oyster case wears an engraved steel tachymeter bezel and came with a white or black dial, the white execution's dark subdial surrounds giving the generation its informal panda look. Sixteen years of waiting lists made it the modern template of the unobtainable steel sports chronograph before the ceramic-bezel 116500LN succeeded it.
