Strange lifts the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual from his watch winder for a closer look; later in the film its shattered case survives the car crash that ends his surgical career, a fitting watch for a man who learns to bend time. The winder Strange opens holds more than the perpetual calendar he lifts out of it, and a steel Cosmograph Daytona sits among the rest: the pre-ceramic generation with an engraved metal bezel, which Rolex replaced the year the film opened. Nobody wears it, and that is the point of the shot, which is dressed to establish a surgeon who acquires objects the way he does everything else, comprehensively and without hesitating over the price.
