The TAG Heuer Link is the bracelet-led sports collection that TAG Heuer renamed from the S/el in 1999. The S/el (short for "Sports Elegance", drawn by Eddie Schopfer and released in 1987) was the first collection developed and introduced under the TAG Heuer name, positioned above the 1000 and 2000 Series divers as a watch meant for a diving suit or a dinner jacket. Its defining feature was a bracelet of interlocking S-shaped links integrated so completely into the case that the earliest models would not take a conventional strap, and the 1999 renaming made that bracelet the collection's identity outright. Over both names the range has spanned quartz three-handers, quartz and automatic chronographs, and certified chronometers. (TAG Heuer, Time and Tide)
