Johnny Depp is an American actor who built a career on eccentric characters, from the title role in Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands (1990) through eight further Burton collaborations, and gained worldwide fame as Captain Jack Sparrow across the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise from 2003 to 2017.
