The Vostok Amphibia was designed in 1967 at the Chistopol factory by engineers Mikhail Novikov and Vera Belova for the Soviet Navy, its sintered-rubber gaskets and thick acrylic crystal compressing tighter as water pressure increases rather than relying on a screw-down crown. Reference 420526 runs the automatic calibre 2416 and is rated to 200 metres; collectors know it as the "Zissou" after the Amphibia Bill Murray wears as the title character in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
