Akira Emoto (born November 3, 1948, in Ginza, Chuo, Tokyo) is a Japanese actor active since 1974. He won the Japan Academy Award for Best Actor for his lead role in Shohei Imamura's Dr. Akagi (1998), and his other credits include Shoplifters (2018) and Rental Family (2025). His sons Tasuku Emoto and Tokio Emoto are also actors. In Shin Godzilla, he plays Chief Cabinet Secretary Ryuta Azuma. (Wikipedia)
