Alec Guinness (1914-2000) was an English actor who won the Academy Award for Colonel Nicholson in The Bridge on the River Kwai and was a mainstay of the Ealing comedies, playing the criminal mastermind Professor Marcus in The Ladykillers and eight separate members of the D'Ascoyne family in Kind Hearts and Coronets. He later reached his widest audience as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy. (Wikipedia)
