The Ladykillers

The Ladykillers, directed by Alexander Mackendrick, was released by Ealing Studios in December 1955. Alec Guinness plays Professor Marcus, the toothy mastermind of a bank-robbery gang who pose as amateur musicians while renting rooms from an elderly widow, played by Katie Johnson, whose presence increasingly complicates their plans.
