Bob Newhart (1929–2024) was an American comedian and actor known for his deadpan, stammering delivery. Beginning his career as a stand-up comedian, he starred as psychologist Bob Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show (1972–1978) and later played innkeeper Dick Loudon in Newhart (1982–1990). He received three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, a Peabody Award, and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. (Wikipedia)
