The Bob Newhart Show is an American sitcom produced by MTM Enterprises that aired on CBS from September 16, 1972, to April 1, 1978, across six seasons and 142 half-hour episodes. Bob Newhart stars as Chicago psychologist Bob Hartley, whose interactions with his wife Emily (Suzanne Pleshette), friends, patients, and colleagues drive the show's humor; the series was filmed before a live audience.
