Chevy Chase, born in 1943, is an American actor and comedian and one of the original Saturday Night Live cast members of 1975–76, where his deadpan pratfalls made him an early breakout. He anchored a run of studio comedies through the 1980s (Caddyshack, Fletch, and the National Lampoon's Vacation films as bumbling patriarch Clark Griswold) and returned to television decades later as Pierce Hawthorne on Community.
