Dominic Monaghan (born 1977) is a British actor best known as Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003) and as Charlie Pace, the fading rock bassist among the Oceanic 815 survivors, on ABC's Lost (2004–2010), a role that ran from the pilot to his character's death at the end of the third season.
