Götz George (23 July 1938, Berlin, to 19 June 2016, Hamburg) was a German actor who reached a wide audience in the Karl May films of the 1960s and became a household name from 1981 as the unconventional Duisburg commissioner Horst Schimanski in Tatort. Later character roles ran from the serial killer of Der Totmacher (1995) to the satire Schtonk! (1992); he plays the bank robber Probek in Dominik Graf's Die Katze. (Wikipedia)
