Dominik Graf's 1988 thriller, adapted from Uwe Erichsen's novel Das Leben einer Katze, plays out on one June day in Düsseldorf: the wanted criminal Probek (Götz George) directs a hostage robbery of the bank across the street from a hotel room he shares with the bank manager's wife Jutta Ehser (Gudrun Landgrebe), while his accomplices Junghein (Heinz Hoenig) and Britz (Ralf Richter) hold the branch and Voss (Joachim Kemmer) leads the police response. One of the few West German genre films of its decade to succeed in cinemas, it drew more than 1.3 million admissions in Germany in 1988. (IMDb; Wikipedia)

- Worn by Götz George as Probek. Probek's steel watch on an integrated bracelet is visible in two frames from the film's opening minutes that an Uhrforum member posted in 2025. One reply read the hexagonal-looking bracelet links as a Vacheron Constantin 222, another pointed to George's known preference for IWC, and a third identified the older IWC Ingenieur with the Jaeger-LeCoultre-based automatic caliber, adding a comparison frame of George wearing the same watch as Schimanski in Tatort. A further member confirmed the Ingenieur from a Getty Images set photograph and narrowed it by the 1988 production date to the 34 mm references 3506 (automatic) or 3305 (quartz); nothing in the frames separates the two.
