Jason Segel (born 1980) is an American actor and writer who came up through Judd Apatow's ensembles in Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared before playing Marshall Eriksen across nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother. He co-wrote and starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets, and has since moved toward dramatic roles including David Foster Wallace in The End of the Tour. (Wikipedia)
