Peter Fonda (1940-2019) was an American actor, director, and screenwriter, the son of Henry Fonda and brother of Jane Fonda. He co-wrote and starred as Wyatt ("Captain America") in Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider (1969), the counterculture road film that helped launch the New Hollywood movement, for which Fonda later received a Best Original Screenplay Oscar nomination.
