The Rolex GMT-Master 1675 is the second-generation GMT-Master, made from 1959 to 1980 and the reference that fixed the model's shape for a generation: a 40 mm Oyster case with crown guards, a fourth hand geared to make one turn a day, and a rotating 24-hour bezel it reads against to show a second time zone at a glance. Rolex built the original GMT-Master with Pan Am so its pilots could hold home and destination time on one wrist, and the 1675 is the version that carried that job through the jet age. It ran the calibre 1565 and then the 1575, which gained a hacking seconds hand in 1971; the earliest "pointed crown guard" cases are the ones collectors chase. (Bob's Watches)
