Russell Peters (born 29 September 1970) is a Canadian stand-up comedian and actor whose 2004 Comedy Now! set went viral on early YouTube and built an international following well before streaming comedy existed. In 2013 he became the first comedian to headline a Netflix stand-up special, and he later won a Peabody Award and an International Emmy for producing the documentary series Hip-Hop Evolution (2016).
