Scott Glenn (born 1939) is an American actor, a former Marine whose weathered presence made him a fixture of 1980s and 1990s American cinema: Wes Hightower in Urban Cowboy, astronaut Alan Shepard in The Right Stuff, the submarine captain in The Hunt for Red October, FBI chief Jack Crawford in The Silence of the Lambs, and later the blind mentor Stick in Daredevil and Kevin Garvey Sr. in The Leftovers.
