Omega Speedmaster Professional

The Omega Speedmaster Professional, better known as the Moonwatch, began in 1957 as a motorsport chronograph and became the watch NASA qualified for crewed spaceflight in 1965, the only submitted chronograph to survive the agency's tests. The classic Moonwatch configuration puts a manual-winding chronograph calibre in a 42 mm steel case under a hesalite crystal, with a black dial, three recorders and a tachymeter bezel; the photograph shows reference 311.30.42.30.01.005, a calibre 1861 example, which no appearance recorded here resolves to. Omega has kept that recipe close to the 1960s original through decades of reference and movement changes, and it remains the only watch NASA qualifies for extravehicular activity.
