Banana Fish is a 2018 anime television series adapting Akimi Yoshida's manga, directed by Hiroko Utsumi and produced by MAPPA, airing on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. Set primarily in 1980s New York City, it follows street gang leader Ash Lynx (Yuma Uchida) as he uncovers a criminal conspiracy involving a mysterious drug called "banana fish," forming a close bond with Japanese photographer's assistant Eiji Okumura (Kenji Nojima) along the way.
