Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion follows teenage pilots pressed into defending Tokyo-3 from the Angels, then turns its giant-robot premise inward as the psychological cost of that duty overwhelms them. The watch connection has arrived only through official collaborations built years after the series aired: Citizen and the in-house RADIO EVA brand released three Unit-themed watches in 2022, Casio marked the anime's 30th anniversary with a G-Shock in 2025, Kentex followed with an EVAR x MOTO-R chronograph the same year, Seiko closed out the anniversary with a RADIO EVA Prospex diver in December 2025, and GARRACK added a three-model raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) mechanical collection in June 2026, none of them placing a watch on a character on screen.
