Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1994, follows Kenshin Himura, a wandering swordsman who was once the feared assassin Hitokiri Battōsai during the Bakumatsu and has sworn to carry only a reverse-blade sword and never kill again in the Meiji era that follows. The 1996 TV anime adapted it for Fuji TV, animated first by Studio Gallop and later by Studio Deen and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, running 95 episodes across three seasons from January 1996 to September 1998. SuperGroupies has released two character watches tied to the series. (IMDb)
