Batman (Bruce Wayne) is a superhero created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger for DC Comics, first appearing in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. A wealthy Gotham City vigilante with no superhuman powers, he has since starred in his own long-running comic book series alongside a large supporting rogues' gallery, and been adapted across many films, television series, and games.
