Barry Eisler's fourth John Rain thriller sends the half-Japanese assassin and his partner Dox to Manila on a contract from Israeli intelligence, then through Hong Kong and Bangkok as the job comes apart. Rain reads the men around him by what they carry. (Open Library)
Watches
- Casio G-Shock
- John Rain finds little to identify the man whose vehicle he searches. A Casio G-Shock and carefully chosen knives suggest someone attentive to survival and preparation. The watch's reference and the man's identity are not established by these passages.
