Scent of a Killer (2004)

Christiane Heggan's romantic suspense novel, published by Mira in 2004, opens with Pincho Figueras, a Brazilian professional killer who runs the Times Square coffee shop Insomnia under the alias Kravitz. Jenna Meyerson, whose client Adam Lear has died a death the police call natural, keeps digging into the company Global Access with and against her old friend Frank, and the cover says she has uncovered a deadly conspiracy and is on the run. Victorinox Swiss Army (unidentified model): Jenna walks eighteen blocks to the High Noon Cafe on Herald Square to meet Claire Peabody, a Global Access secretary who has come through with information, and nibbles a chef's salad as the minutes pass. After checking that her cell phone is on she glances at her Swiss Army watch, sees that it is almost one-thirty and calls Global Access, where the switchboard tells her that Claire has fallen from the seventh-floor gallery and is dead. The text says only "Swiss Army watch".
