Stephen J. Cannell's tenth Shane Scully novel opens with three bodies beside a swimming pool in the Hollywood Hills and saddles the LAPD detective with a new partner, Sumner "Hitch" Hitchens, who sold one of his cases to the movies and has the profit points to prove it.
